Prepare your arrival

Coming to the hospital, even if it is planned in advance, remains stressful, especially for a surgical procedure. Preparing your visit as best as possible will allow you to come more relaxed and in better conditions.

It is important to come on an empty stomach (no solid food until 6 hours before the procedure, clear liquids allowed up to 2 hours before the procedure).

Depending on the type of procedure, it may be necessary to carry out depilation yourself the day before the procedure, either with a depilatory cream (to be tried before to avoid an allergic reaction), or with chemical hair removal in an institute, or with a hair clipper or electric razor. Do not use a mechanical razor (risk of cuts and infection of the surgical site).

Before any intervention, you must shower the evening before and the same morning of the intervention (with Betadine soap if a prosthesis is in place).

To best prepare for your visit, here is a list of essential items to bring with you:

- All elements of your medical file

- Your Vitale card

- Your mutual insurance card

- Change of clothes

- A toiletry kit

- Your medications

- Your device for sleep apnea if applicable
